"I have a friend who is attempting to check for security updates to his vista desktop, and he receives the following error " Code 8007070437 Windows update encountered an unknown error" after trying to check for updates. He said that he has had the workstation for about 18 months, and that this has only recently started to occur.
Has anyone else received a similar error, and if so, how may this be resolved? My friend is going to reload the operating system if unable to resolve.
I have tried to google for the error but have not found anything, I am sorry to be unable to provide any specifics as to the hardware/software configuration of the workstation.
