Tape Verification Failures when co-locating? RRS feed

  • We're seeing the following error frequently using a Dell TL2000 - it appears to be an issue when co-locating backups to tape. The tape media and unit is less than 4 months old. DPM is on SP1 too.

    Type: Tape verification
    Status: Failed
    Description: DPM encountered a critical error while trying to parse the contents of the tape Disk Based Backups-00000058 (000006L6). This may be because the data on this tape is corrupt. (ID 24080 Details: Internal error code: 0x80990AA5)

  • Hi,

    Co-location is probably not related. Each data source written to tape is in a separate data set and each data set is verified independently.

    You can use a DPM powershell command to verify the recovery points in question and see if this also reports issues with any of them.
