Some of my group policy "Unique ID" folders in Sysvol are empty

    Question

  • I noticed that some of the folders in sysvol/"domain" are empty. They are empty on both DCs.  These are the folders that are named with the unique id of each group policy.  Does anyone know why or how to correct it?

  • Hi,

These folders are used to store group policy settings configured in the corresponding GPOs. If you haven't configured group policy settings in the specific GPOs, then there are no settings in the corresponding folders.

  • Hello.  I know they used to store the settings.  These policies have settings configured.  That's why I am puzzled.

WHAT settings exactly? There are a number of areas which do not store in
sysvol, but in AD (wireless, e.g.)
