your client doesn't support opening this list with windows explorer

  Hey,

  In this thread, in last post there is a link to some solution and seems it is the "Desktop experience" feature needs to be installed

  Try it out

  as i have windows 7 and it have Webcient Service that is already running .

  This can also happen if you are using Internet Explorer 6 and the URL to the Document Library is longer than 100 characters

  The original poster indicated that he was using Windows 7, so neither Windows Server 2008 nor Internet Explorer 6 should have been issues.

  I've been experiencing similar issues, so I've been checking out other posts on this topic. If I find anything helpful, I will add a comment on this thread.

  Hi,

  I am using window 7 32 bit even then it gives the same error. It works for me 2 days before and after that it gives error but no change in the client PC and sever . I am using Form based authentication.

  Server - windows server 2008 R2 and "Desktop experience" feature installed and webclient is started manually.(No MS office  installed)

  Client PC - webclient is started manually and running onces the open in explore get clicked.(MS office 2010)

  client integration tools get enabled.

  IIS ->WebServer > Role Service > WebDav Publishing - Not installed

  IE 9- Protected mode - off

  Please tell me what is the system requirement for this feature to work?
