Is inventory lost when clients change sites? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone,

I've tried googling, and I've tried reading, but I can't find an answer to this question: When a client changes site codes because they move boundaries, is Hardware Inventory lost?  About 30% of my clients lose their inventories (as in: they were fine a few days ago, I had hardware & history, and then it's gone, and then a new full inventory comes in later) and I'm trying to determine if it could be related to another problem we're troubleshooting where clients are bouncing between sites.

    Thanks!
    Chris

  • If it is in a same hierarchy, the HW will remain.

  • Are you talking about secondary sites? If so, clients never belong to secondary sites, they simply use the roles within a secondary site to communicate with the primary. Thus switching is meaningless.

If you are talking about primary sites, clients never automatically change between primary sites for any reason.
