  • My suggestion is to not configure pro-active caching unless you are REALLY sure that you need it. And you only really need it if you have a cube based directly on top of OLTP tables that are being continuously updated AND you need the cube to be within a few minutes of the data.

    But if you have a cube sitting over a data mart that is populated by an ETL routine, then you are much better to just add the cube processing commands on the end of your ETL jobs. It's simpler, more reliable and you have a lot better visibility of what's going on.

    Hi Sanjeewan,

    Apply Setting to dimension option: Applies storage mode and proactive caching settings to associated dimensions.
