Logon banner not affected by screen lock and power settings timeouts? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I noticed that if someone starts to login and stops at the logon banner prompt and does not continue, the screen stays at this prompt forever and does not lock.  It does not appear that sleep or hibernate settings work either so the computer would keep running in the unlocked state overnight of the user forgot about it.

How can we make the legal banner time out in some manner such as hibernate, shut down, lock screen or automatic log out back to the ctrl alt del screen if you do not click OK to continue logging in within some time period?

Is there some way to integrate/streamline the login banner text on the login page itself so you see the same info before logging in, but it is not a separate prompt you have to click through after you have already entered your password?

  • Hi,

Have you test the issue in Clean Boot to check whether it is able to sleep or hibernate?

I suggest you can also try the local account to test the result.

  • I don't think this is an error.  I think it is just the way this works by default.

I need to know if there is something that can be done to change it.
