DPM 2016 & Server 2008 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I can't get DPM 2016 to perform a bare metal / system state backup on physical servers running Server 2008 R2. Error message from Windows Backup on the Server 2008 R2 server is as follows;

    The backup operation that started at '‎2017‎-‎01‎-‎26T14:25:46.544626000Z' has failed with following error code '2155348010'. Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved.

    Googling this error code, it suggests a problem with the sector size on the DPM disk. But I'm guessing this because Server 2008 R2 doesn't like the REFS disk format used by DPM 2016?

    Volume backups work fine, just the bare metal / system state.
