Change package guid during or after sequencing RRS feed

  • Question

  • So let's say I have an application with the user's shortcuts pointing to C:\ProgramData\App-V\<guid>_<version>\test.exe

Now I'm creating an entire new package, I'm publishing the shortcuts using group policies and not an App-V publishing server so the paths are hardcoded.

Is it possible to change the package -and versionguid to match the previous package so i don't have to change the shortcuts every time?

    Thanks!

  • Ok fair enough I guess I can work around it :) Publish both packages then change the shortcuts.

    Easy points for you :)

  • You can change the package GUID after sequencing using a tool like TWeakAppV, it is free.

Also, take a look at this similar thread.
