wildcard cretificate RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear reader,

Am I allowed to use a wildcard certificatie when I create multiple portals for different customers? like:

    cust1.domain.com

    cust2.domain.com

If so, can I then just create the wildcard csr at the default website?

    Thanks in advance,

  • I like to add something to Ruuds excellent answer...

I would also consider the option of using "SAN" Subject Alternative Name certificates..

    http://www.verisign.com/ssl/buy-ssl-certificates/subject-alternative-name-certificates/

If your a Celestix customer you can generate your certificate using our UI which is wizard driven.  But when I am deploying IAG for Hyper-V customers, I generally will create a new website and just follow the wizard from there.   Just becareful not to activate your IAG configuration until you've obtained your certificate.

    Thank you!
