MS Teams - Request button greyed out

Question
-
We encounter the 'request button greyed out' issue a few times a week. During internal meetings, this is never an issue. Our Policies are set and everything looks to be in order on the admin page.
The problem occurs when we have meetings with external customers. The meeting is created on our side of things. Participants all join the meeting. If an external participant shares their screen and has control, none of my employees (internal) can request control. The option is greyed out. This makes troubleshooting things on the customers side very difficult. The customer is using the App, not the web client.
Could this be something to do with the policy settings on the customers side ? Even though they are joining our meeting that has the correct policies set to share/request control.
Thanks
Nathan

Hi Nathan!
Thanks for your feedback!
Have you checked if the external user's meeting policy setting is the same as yours?

Hi Nathan_EandM!
If you share your screen to the external users, can they request control well in the meeting?
I also agree with your idea. This issue seems related to your external customer’s policy settings. We recommend you contact your external customer to check if they have created the custom meeting policy to turn off “Allow external participants to give or request control’. Yes, that direction works fine. It is when certain customers are sharing their screen that we cannot request control.
