SkfB MAPI unavailable with Outlook in chached mode RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All.

We have SkfB 2015 server on-premise and Exchange Online (at this moment hybrid, but all mailboxes are moved to online) and we have problem with MAPI connection from SkfB clinet.

When Outlook is in online (not cached) mode, all work perfectly. When i change Outlook to cached mode (and restart SkfB and Outlook) MAPI became problematic. Conversation is saved in Outlook, Skfb show history, delete conversation is synced between Outlook and SkfB, but configuration display that MAPI is unavailable and displaying history in Outlook directly from SkfB client is not possible. After change profile back to online (and restart) MAPI start work again.

I test workaround from these links, but with no change.

  • Hi JR bva,

Based on my research, this issue could be fixed with the latest version of SFB and Outlook client, please try to check your Outlook and SFB client version at first.

In addition, if you configured to use UCS, you could try to check the UCS Connectivity State in the SFB Configuration Information, if the status is not show as Active, please try to launch the registry editor (regedit) and browse to the following key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles, then create a new key under it as the blog shows: SKYPE FOR BUSINESS – GETTING MAPI UNAVAILABLE MESSAGE AFTER SWITCHING TO UCS

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
