Strange issue in a Word document RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi technet,

My colleague just sent me a Word document which should have 25 pages, but when I opened it in my Word, I can only see 20 pages of them. Then, we tested it on another colleague's computer, it displayed correctly with 25 pages. We all use Word 2016, I can't figure out why 5 pages are missing on my computer. Any of you saw this before? Thanks.

  • It's possible the 'missing' content is actually formatted as hidden text. Try clicking on the ¶ symbol on the Ribbon's Home tab.

  • First, check out Paul's suggestion.

If that didn't help, is any text missing from the original or has it simply been reformatted to fit on fewer pages?

Here are two possible explanations if there is no missing text:

One other alternative would be whether any headings are collapsed in the document. By default, Word automatically expands headings upon opening, but that is an optional setting that may be different on your computer.
