Need to just to enable Microsoft-Hyper-V-Services RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

When I try to enable just only "Hyper-V Services" I'll receive error like "the configuration registry key could not be read"

    Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V-Services -NoRestart

Cant enable Hyper-V All because of how Windows 10 works with Credential Guard and Applications Guard.

    Any Idea?

    Best regards
    Magnus

  • That's not a scripting issue. Did you try to search for it? Windows Defender Credential Guard is by default using some operating system functions needed to run Hyper-V. So you have to configure that first. Please google it.

  • In 1803 you should not need to enable Hyper-V services by script or manually. But for some reason Hyper-V services will not start. Now I need to start Hyper-V services from a SCCM-baseline.

All UEFI-settings are inplace together with following settings:

New-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceGuard" -Name RequirePlatformSecurityFeatures -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1
New-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceGuard" -Name EnableVirtualizationBasedSecurity -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1
New-ItemProperty -Path HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa -Name LsaCfgFlags -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1

  • Still not a scripting issue. Please post in generall Windows forum.

Take a look at this: Manage Windows Defender Credential Guard
