GPO trusted sites with ports in url RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I had a request to add a new website to the GPO of the trusted sites.

    This time it had a port specified : www.bankxxx.be:2443

    Should I add the port in the GPO?

    *.anybank.be:2443    2    (Trusted)

    or just

    *.anybank.be    2 (Trusted)

    Thanks in advance,

    Joeri

  • Hi,

    You could add the full url, however, Internet Explorer removes the port number from the Web site's URL after the Web site is added to the security zone.

  • Hi,

    to test manually add the domains to your Trusted sites list.

    (navigate to the url, select Tools>Internet Options>Security tab>Trusted Sites icon, 'Sites' button... you will be prompted to add the current document url to the list);

    to find out which IE security zone a domain maps to select the File/Properties menu.

    There should be no need to add sites to the Trusted sites list on a public access or consumer computer. You should test the site domain, targeting the default Internet security zone.

    Regards.
