How to stop/kill a time consuming query from proclarity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

Is there a way to kill/stop a query in Proclarity that is taking a long time? If a user just closes Proclarity i.e. kills their session, does the query still continues to run on the server?

    Thanks!

  • Unfortunately there is no way to kill the query from ProClarity beyond closing the application.  If you close the app, I should kill the query on the server if you are using SSAS 2005 SP3 or later (SSAS 2008 should be fine).  The ability to kill an MDX query from any client app was only added to SSAS in 2005 SP3 (I think?).
