IE changes hash value of file on download RRS feed

  • Dear ALL, 

    any idea why IE changes the hash value of a file on downloading it. When using chrome the values are the same but in IE original hash value is different from that of the downloaded copy.

  • Hi,

    You can use the Networking tab of the f12 dev tool to inspect the response headers and content length.

    typically, <object> and <embed> tags require both an data and type attribute. When missing, you will see two requests in the dev tool networking tab.

    typically, server side code that is used is using response.end I/o response.close() and the content length is mis-reported.

    IE uses Security zones, and outcomes may depend on which IE security zone a domain and its content is mapped to. Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, check "Always record developer console messages". Save changes... now the IE dev tool will list security, markup and blocked content errors from your web pages for you to troubleshoot.
