Can Lync Groups be moved to an AD Subtree ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have recently installed Lync and now have groups such as RTCComponentUniversalServices & RTCProxyUniversalServices residing in our AD at OU=Users,<LDAPDNSSuffix>.  To keep our AD tidy, we would like to move these groups to OU=Lync,OU=Groups,<LDAPDNSSuffix>.  Will this break our Lync installation (or will Lync search the LDAP subtree from <LDAPDNSSuffix>) ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Patrick

  • Hi Pat,

The Lync AD Group can be moved without any issues.

I usually move it almost every time to match the client AD structure.
