I can't see Tasks or capacity planning of my entire team RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

This is the second time that we are trying to use Project and PWA. At this time, the only user who have access to PWA is me.

I create my work resources, and my projects in my desktop client, but when I go online, I can't see anything that I worked in the desktop client, also anything of capacity planning.

    - I create my "Time Reporting Period" from 1-1-2018 to 12-1-2018...edit in my desktop client, go into PWA...nothing again.

I can't remember which setup configuration missed here.

It is like help 101 from PWA in the first step! I was reading this https://pwmather.wordpress.com/2014/07/22/getting-started-with-projectonline-round-up-ps2013-office365-project-ppm-sharepointonline-pm-sp2013/

But I don't really know if it could be a good idea have two instances of pwa and start again (assuming that I am wrong from the start)

    ¿Could you help me please?

  • Hi Alberto,

First thing would be to check if your resources in your project plan are local or enterprise resources. They have to be enterprise resources in order for the workload to be consolidated. So first step is to create enterprise resources then add them to the project team(s), assign them to task and publish the project.

    Hope this helps,

  • Hi Guillaume

I only have enterprise resources at this time. I create the resources in the PWA and create the project. Then I open it in the desktop client to work, save and check it in.

Then I go to PWA and open it and click on Publish.

But in the resources capacity planning all my work resources have their 8 hr free, like no task assigned in any project.

What do you think could be the issue?

    Best regards

    Alberto Cruz

  • The resources need to have login accounts associate with each resource.  In the PWA Settings, look for User Management and verify that the users are found there.

  • Thanks Michael!

A question about that: so...my work resources need a login account to my tenant?

This login account need at least project online essentials license for Capacity Planning works properly?

    Best regards
