  • I'm getting the following error:

    List does not exist.

The page you selected contains a list that does not exist.  It may have been deleted by another user.

...but only from the external link. Allow me to explain:

When I navigate to the list internally (http://sharepoint/) I can see the list, open items in the list, create new items in the list, etc. - no problem.

when i try to navigate to the list from outside my own network (i.e. http://sharepoint.mydomain.com) then I can get to the list, I can see the list, I can see all of the items listed in it... but I can't open any of the items or create a new item without getting the above error.

    Any suggestions?

  • Do you have an AAM set up for the extranet URL?

  • No, people navigate just though the DNS url. (i.e. mydomain.com is the external DNS record for our domain, and you can navigate to our sharepoint server by prefixing it with "sharepoint"). Is this the problem? Should I create an AAM for it?

  • Yes, that is likely the problem, and you are going to want to create an AAM for this.  You pretty much need to create a AAM for any URL that people can use to get to your site.

  • Nailed it. Thanks, t_bithell - a schoolboy error on my part!
