Vista incompatability uninstall issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Need help uninstalling software from a Vista operated laptop.  For a college course I was taking I needed to install a 1.7 GB program called SAM 2003.  When it was installing it gave me the message that an incompatible operationg system was detected, but the software installed and ran cleanly none the less.  Now that I am finished with the course I wanted to uninstall SAM because I don't need it and it's hogging almost 2 GB of the hard drive.  I went to uninstall it and it gave me the same message saying that there is an incompatible operationg system detected. But, once that message comes up it discontinues the uninstall.  I don't know how to get rid of the program, and don't want to pay $59 to ask Microsoft directly.  Can anybody help?

  • Do you have Windows Defender? If you do stop the program there. Open program properties and see if you can change the compatible for the program to Windows NT or Windows XP to unstall it.
