Latest SQL Management Pack RRS feed

  • Question

  • Maybe it's just me, but the latest SQL MP doesn't (and won't work).

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8C0F970E-C653-4C15-9E51-6A6CADFCA363&displaylang=en

The site shows that it was published on 11/24/2009 and the version is 6.0.6648.0.

Now scroll down to the area called "Release History" and you will see: "7/22/2009 - Updated version 6.0.6648.0"

Ops Mgr will not let you import the new MP since you already (assuming you did) have it installed. Did they forget to increment the build number? I also noticed that the .mp files themselves are all dated from 7/8/2009. Not sure if that says anything.

Let me know if I am just stupid (that is an acceptable answer :-) ).

  • Hi

If you download the guide it states:

Guide update only – no changes to management pack

Guess that is the answer. The MPs haven't changed.

    Cheers

  • Wishfull thinking, but it would be nice if I didn't have to download, open, and read the guide to find that out. Seems like something simple enough to post on the download page itself for impatient and stubborn people like myself. :-)

  • I'm impressed that you're adventurous enough to be importing management packs hours after release .. I'm a coward and wait for Kevin Holman to do some testing first ;-)

  • Don't be impressed at my boldness. I spend most of my day just overriding monitors . . .

An opportunity to actually be able to sit back and get alerts would be pleasurable. :-)
