Problem with RSAT for Win7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have problem with installing RSAT for Windows 7. Every time when I start the installation, I receive an error message:

    - Installer encountered an error: 0x8007000d
    - The data is invalid

This is the case with both versions 32 and 64 bit. I also tried on multiple installation of Windows 7.
Does any have idea what is going on?

  • Hi,

please run the Windows Explorer and go to the folder "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" and copy the file "CBS.log" to your document folder (otherwise you can't open it) and open it with notepad. Now search for errors. Which errors do you see?

If you are unsure, please upload the complete CBS.log to your SkyDrive [1] and post a link here.

  • Hi,

you get a lot of HRESULT = 0x800f0816 - CBS_E_DPX_JOB_STATE_SAVED errors. Try to run sfc.exe [1]and check if it finds corrupt files.

  • I have perform scan with sfc.exe tool, and I have got this message:

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

After the scan, I have upload the new file:

\??\C:\Windows\SysWOW64\en-US\iassdo.dll.mui do not match actual file [l:28{14}]"iassdo.dll.mui" :

    Those 2 files are corrupt:

try to extract them from a Windows DVD:
