Postgres - accessing views RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Postgres together with Power Query.

    I can see all tables, but no views even when using the postgres user.

    The sql is

    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW "xx" AS   SELECT * from test;

    ALTER TABLE "xx" OWNER TO postgres; GRANT ALL ON TABLE "xx" TO
    postgres; GRANT ALL ON TABLE "xx" TO public;

    What am I missing so that the views can be found inside Excel?

    The workaround seems to be to specify the SQL for the view when defining the data source - thus it looks more like a Power Query issue.

  • Connecting to MySQL has the same issue where the navigator does not find views. You have the work-a-round correct, do not use Recent Sources and on the initial page, expand the SQL area and enter your formula for selecting from the view.
