  • Question

  • Good afternoon all,

I'm running into an interesting issue, and was curious if anyone had encountered a similar issue before.

We have a user with Edit and Contribute permissions to a Library with unique permissions.  They do not have permissions to any other area of the site collection.  When the user attempts to check out a document through IE they are prompted for credentials and then receive an error  stating that they do not have permission to check out the document.

Through Chrome they are able to edit the document through Office Web Apps in the browser.

  • There is a root site collection in place, but the SharePoint OpenDocuments extension in IE may be an issue.

  • Hi,

Make sure the sites are added to the trusted site zone, and the protected mode is turned off.

I hope this will help you out
