Call transfer/forward issue with Skype for Business RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a call transfer/forward issue with Skype for Business (S4B). The problem is related to the source number during transfer /forward.

    Our PSTN service provider will accept source number only from assigned DID range (PSTN number range assigned to our office). With S4B during transfer/forward source number is original caller number. For example External1 calls Internal1, then Internal1 transfers call to External2, then PSTN providers sees a call as External1 -> External2 while we need it be presented as Internal1 -> External2, otherwise call is dropped.

    How can we achieve this?

  • you could do it from S4B trunk calling normalization rules but it will be similar wild card you will do the following:

    • first all did numbers will go out without change.
    • all unified access numbers will go out without change.
    • any other numbers that doesn't belong to company should changed to one number you choose from your company numbers range, so when users see it they know it is forwarded call.

  • Hello Ram,

    This need to be done in the GW level Transformation Table

    Basically you need to change the Diversion number as a calling number using the Transformation Rule

    Caller A( Calling Number)  ---> Caller B(Diversion) ---> Caller C( Callee)

    This to be changed to

    Caller A( no Tags) ---Caller B(Calling Number) ---> Caller C( Callee)

  • Thanks for the info, but in your example configuration is done on the gateway (not on s4b side). And the gateway is Sonus, in our case it's Cisco.

  • ok Ram,

    I think you should be able find out similar settings for Cisco as well but logic would be the same.
