How to clear the logs of administrator events? RRS feed

  • i cant seem to delete the log files in administrator events...there is no clear log in the action pane and none if i right click on admin events?  there must be away that is not too complex or time consuming..i am using win 7 ultimate on a system i built myself

    Actually I feel a little confused, could you tell me the “logs files in administrator events” which you want to delete are in SharePoint products? 

    From your description, I think the “logs files in administrator events” you meant are “Event Viewer>>Custom Views>>administrator events” in Win 7. If it was, you cannot right click the “Administrative Events” to  find the “Clear Logs”, because the Logs in Administrative Events are not the real Log files, just a lookup filtered by administrative type events. You can expand the Windows Logs & Applications and Services Logs, then right click to clear logs.

    In that case please say if you are using the Bamboo Solutions fix (originally for Vista) or a VM.

    Other possibilities are not available for the 2007 SharePoint products.
