    We have deployed SSP in a staging environment and it is working well.

    We have deployed SSP to our production environment on IIS server which is also SharePoint 2010 Production WFE server.

    Application pool SM_AppPool, binding with SSL, port 443.  Followed the deployment instructions.

    Production portal works fine on localhost

    ·         Issue:   In production, we are presented with error ID 1007. The system process that holds the port is PID 4 , which is impossible to terminate. Portal keeps asking credentials when it is accessed via full address or server address, and does not accept any credentials.

    ·         Only Windows Authentication enabled which follows the deployment instructions.    What do we need to check/do to resolve?

    Can you check for any errors in event log (Applications and Services logs->Operations Manager) on the production web server? As long as SSP and Sharepoint are not sharing the application pool I am not sure how are you running into this.

    Check your bindings in IIS, it looks like more than one site is bound to port 443, that will kick the errors you are seeing.

    One of your site (may be defoult) using 443 port. Stop all sites and try agan!
