SSTP through authenticated web (http) proxy RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have successfully setup an SSTP VPN connection which works from any standard, non-proxy connection.

However, I am unable to get a SSTP connection in a wireless LAN which requires me to input a proxy address and port in my browser settings - authenticated (username and password) http proxy.

I know that SSTP does not support connections through authenticated web proxies but is there a way around this? I have looked at proxifiers but as far as I can tell, these work for applications only and I am unsure of how to modify them to get the entire WLAN connection to use the proxiy or at least just the in-built VPN connection to prompt for authentication.

AFAIK, all ports on the WLAN are blocked except for HTTP and HTTPS ports.

    My questions are:

    1. Do I have to resort to third party VPN solutions such as OpenVPN?

    2. Can this be done through proxifier applications and I just need to find out how to do this?

Thank you in advance and please ask if you require more information.
