IE6 SP1 for Windows 2000 full download RRS feed

  • I need a full download for Internet Explorer 6 SP1 for an old Windows 2000 system. Need full install as this computer does not have internet access.

    Help?

    They used to sell CD's to do this.   Don't know if that service is still available or not.  Probably can't get anything as out-of-date as IE6sp1 though.

     

    Another option would be installing a VHD of it preinstalled in XPsp3.   Can you get a VM host for that OS?  Virtual PC or VirtualBox for example?   Another requirement of course would be being able to run a VM host on that machine.

    Click on the More... button to see the XP offering.   You would only be able to use it for 90 days and then need to have a valid XP licence to continue using it.

    In fact, that will probably be more up-to-date than you specify too.   Why IE6sp1?   If you had a TechNet or MSDN subscription from that time period you could probably find an instance of it on other CD's available for install as a supplemental tool for using their documentation.   Related to this, I can't remember the timeline but the W2K install CD would undoubtedly have some version of IE available on it.
