DPM 2007 failures twice a day, same time, due to ntbackup service RRS feed

  • Hi. I have a DPM server with failures backing up my Exchange server system state. When it fails, it fails twice a day, same time, 6am, 8pm, with the following Application log error:

    Event Source: NTBackup
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 8019
    Date:  12/13/2010
    Time:  8:00:23 PM
    User:  N/A
    Computer: CSE-EX
    End Operation: Warnings or errors were encountered.
    Consult the backup report for more details.

    DPM is running on a 2008r2 Datacenter virtual machine via Hyper-V.
    Exchange is on a physical server running 2003 Standard SP2.

    Please advise; let me know what other information you need.

  • You will want to review the ntbackup reports for more information on the issue. Windows Server 2003 ntbackup logs for system state backup are stored in C:\Document and Settings\Default User\Application Data\Microsoft\NTBackup. The Log files will be named BackupXX.log, Backup01.log, and so forth, look at the time stamp of the file to determine which one matches the failed job.
