Switching from on premise AD authentication to Azure AD RRS feed

  • Question

  • When running the Azure Hybrid model, your first login is to the Cloud based Azure AD. For business continuity purposes what happens if a company loses all internet access (road worker slices through the Fibres).  is there a way to revert to good old AD authentication?

  • Hi,

I think you should configure the device writeback method to achieve this:

  • Do you have ADFS, use AAD Connect, use PTA / PHS?

  • nzpcmad1 gives the best advice...if you run Azure AD Connect with PTA (Pass thru Authentication) your AD still 'lives' on-premise but users can also authenticate from the cloud remotely.

Obviously this scenario gives you the same head ache in reverse...your remote users would be unable to authenticate until the finer is restored.
