Power Query load to data model failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I first load two text files (notepad) to query, they are from YouTube "Excel is Fun" Channel provider.

Links to the two files: https://people.highline.edu/mgirvin/AllClasses/218_2016/Content/Week07/Video17ImportTextFiles-05.zip

Now, inside the Query settings, I first combine binaries (the two data set 2016 and 2017)

After some formatting and removal of unnecessary columns, I clicked close & load To: then only create connection and I checked the box: Add this data to the Data Model. After clicking OK, it is running and rows keep loading, but after that, the message load to data model failed.

At first, I suspected there are too much rows( ~50000), I reduced to first 250 rows but still failed to load to data model, so it's not the complexity issue.

Here are my excel and computer version:

    Microsoft@Excel 2016 MSO (16.0.7766.7080) 32 bit

    Window 7 family version, system: 64-bit, processor: Inter(R) pentium (R), CPU N3520@2.16GHz

IE version: Internet Explorer 11, 11.0.9600.17843

Any insight or idea why this issue arise??

  • Has it ever loaded? Are there any relationships in the model already? Sometimes if relationships have been created and then the data changes it can cause a failure like this.
