how to change the project owner of projects in PWA 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have some 30 Projects, and I want to change the ownership of all the projects to new PM at a single time. Because doing it one be one is time consuming. And for the same i want to give Project permissions to another PM for all the 30 projects.

If anyone knows the easy way to do it, Please reply. It will be very helpful.

  • Hi,

    I would suggest using PowerShell

You can check if the ProjectOwnerID is the one you want to change and then update it

    Hope this helps

  • HI,

You can try Bulk Edit custom solution, it will help you to update and publish all your project at the same time.

BulkEdit tool was released as part of solution starter kit of Project Server 2010, but its not available any more to download from msdn site. However i have uploaded the solution to gallery, you can find it here:

i will strongly suggest to go through this detailed blog post by Andrew about the usage of BulkEdit tool prior to apply:

    hope this helps.

  • Hi Khurram,

Thanks for the info..I tried to install Bulkedit tool in my test server by downloading the zip file. But its not working for me, I have followed all the steps, by changing the url and running as administrator. But still not working for me.

Is there anything else I should do.
