Port needed for Project Professional to communicate with Project Server? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Forum Folks,

Have a quick question regarding Project Professional 2013 communication with Project Server 2013 as we are looking to add a reverse proxy server to access our two server setup behind the firewall. Communication using the browser is via port 80. Does the client (Project Professional) also use port 80 or does that require another port to be opened to communicate with Project Server? If so, which port needs to be opened to allow communication? I've been searching, but can seem to find a direct answer on this one, so I thought I would ask as someone else has probably done this. Thanks.

  • Hi Rick,

Project Professional uses standard ports (80 or 443) to communicate with Project Server 2013.

    Hope this helps
