MOSS2007: Add RecordCenter functionality to ordinary Teamsite? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a large SharePoint 2007 farm that is used all across the organization. It is a farm that grew over the past years. One sub site is used as a Record Center, although being created out of a Teamsite template. This site is used for storing official records.

Now I would like to make use of the OfficialFile Web Service to send files to this "team site" using that web service.

This page describes how the Official File Web Service can be used in MOSS 2007.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee364741(v=office.12).aspx

Can I use a team site as a landing zone for the official file web service? What do I need to do to add record routing functionality?

    Thanks

    Sven

  • Hi Sven,

    from what i read,

"The service is incredibly simple and allows for submission of a document, along with its metadata and audit information and a classifier which determines the type of record being sent. Documents sent to the Official File Web Service are then processed by a component called the iRouter, which determines which document library within the Records Center the document should be routed to."

as Prasath and Daniel suggest before, you need to create an iRouter, so that you can fill the requirement, in here is Recordsrepository. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa981147(v=office.12).aspx

this is the example of code: http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/MsdnRecMan
