Project server 2010 report authors cannot see the 10 Built-in Excel reports RRS feed

  • Question

  • Members of the Report authors (AD group) cannot see the 10 built-in Excel reports in the BI -> Data Connections -> English (United States) folder.  Only Project server web administrators can see them.

I cannot seem to find where to set the permissions.

  • Hi,

to be member of Report Authors does provide access to SQL Server (to get data). To be able to see reports, you need to give Project Server permissions.
The built-in Excel reports are stored in BI - Libraries - Templates/Sample Reports. By the way, you sould be very careful when modifying Data Connection files in BI - Data Connections - English (United States), since they are used by Sample Reports and Templates.
To give users access to BI - Libraries - Templates/Sample Reports, you need to add them to an appropriate Project Server group (like Project Manager, Resource Manager, ....) Does that help?

    Regards
