Group order based on column entries RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a multi choice column in the following order:

    Kick off meeting
    Statement of Work
    High Level requirements
    Detailed Requirements
    Reporting Requirements
    High Level Design
    Detailed Design
    Data Model
    Source to Target
    etc, etc

I want to create a view that groups by this column, but the grouping is alphabetical.
Is there a way to do this without appending a sort order to the column item? (for example: 1-Kick off meeting, 2-Statement of Work etc)

    Thanks for looking

  • I'm surprised that you're able to group via multi-choice columns.  That, and the option to group via look-up columns never worked for me.

I'm not aware of an OOB solution to what you're after.  You MAY be able to set-up a seperate list, give each of these meeting options a numerical value and then use that column as a way of grouping via a look-up but then you're stuck for display text.  Without experimenting, I can't really say more.
