IE 11 Flash Player not Updating RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am running several Windows 7 SP1 machines with IE 11 (11.0.9600.16476 Update Version: 11.02). I have noticed that some machines have not updated to the latest version of Flash Player. Is the flash player update mechanism controlled by IE or by Adobe? How would I go about troubleshooting this issue?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Customers have automatic updating enabled and will not need to take any action because this update will be downloaded and installed automatically. Customers who have not enabled automatic updating need to check for updates and install this update manually. Please check if you have enable automatic update.

Some update need prerequisite update. please try make sure your Internet Explorer is the lastest version.

  • Is the flash player update mechanism controlled by IE or by Adobe?

On Win7 and earlier, it's controlled by Adobe components.

  • Start>Control Panel>Flash

IE10+ has ActiveX Filtering... there are DirectX dependencies for Flash.... ensure Windows Updates and driver updates have been installed.

    Regards.

  • ActiveX Filtering is not enabled and all Windows updates have been installed. What troubleshooting steps can I take? Is there a separate log file for Internet Explorer updates?

  • Karen,

Internet Explorer is set for automatic update and is the latest version (11.02). Where can I find information on the mechanism that IE 10/11 use to update Flash? I haven't been successful finding any documentation.
