Desktop sharing option is unavailable on surface pro 3 RRS feed

    Dear All,

    Need a quick help from you. I have a user who is using surface from on Windows 8. He is currently not able to use "Share Desktop" feature  as that option is shown as grayed out. Ca anyone guide me where the issue can be?

    Seems like Lync store app is used, since it does not support desktop sharing: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn933896.aspx

    Otherwise confirm affected user is not applied conferencing policy that has desktop sharing disabled.

    It it is installed Lync app store, how can we come to know? 

    If it is so, is there any other thing that we can do to resolve this issue? How to install workable Lync version?

    I checked, he has been given enough conferencing policy.

    You can go in add remove programs to see if Lync is on the list. If not, then its installed from App store. You can then click start menu, search for lync - right click and chose uninstall.

    If you have O365 license, you can download full office package from O365 portal.

    Hi Neel_Darji,

     

    Agree with Off2work, Lync Windows Store app do not support the share the desktop function.

    You could uninstall the Lync Windows Store app ,and download full version or use lync 2013 basic version.
