Endpoint not installing on Windows XP machines

Hi
We have approx. 500 machines left in our environment that still have Windows XP on them.
When installing the SCCM 2012 client on Windows 7 PC.s the client installs, then removes the existing forefront client and installs Endpoint.
On the XP machines it installs the client but will not install Endpoint.
After looking through the logs I am unable to determine why.
The registry key seems to be there etc.
Any ideas?
