Can't access global environment with API (mrsdeploy) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I would like to use objects that are loaded in the workspace (global environment) on R Server with 'mrsdeploy'. However, when I call my published API, it has a new empty workspace and can't access my own global environment.

I can only load files from a path from my working directory or objects via creating a snapshot of my remote session. Moreover, when I try to use an object from a snapshot, it takes the same time as I load it from the working directory, which is very time-consuming and makes my web service usage inefficient.

Is it possible to pre-define and save objects in the workspace that the API is using?

I've read that the functionality to use your own workspace with APIs was included in DeployR server, so that one could use their local environment in the DeployR server environment, too.

Is there any solution in 'mrsdeploy' to overcome the inefficiency caused by always loading objects or files whenever I call an API?

    Thank you in advance!

    Kind regards,

    Gabor
