  • Hello,

    Why Microsoft DPM2010 backup sollution cannot restore emails (Item-Level Recovery) on Microsoft Exchange Server when another sollutions (Symantec Backup Exec) do this very easily and effectively? I dont understand it.

  • Hi,

    you could try to use MailRetriever for DPM (www.appassure.com). It manages ILR for Exchange. You can restore to a pst, to the original location or to a recovery database (even possible to restore inside public folders).

  • Looks like other products are reverse engineering the .edb file to recover mailbox. Exchange does not support this.

    Do you think that Symantec Backup Exec 2010 uses product developed by reverse engineering with no Microsoft Support? Is really these products not supported by Microsoft?
