  • Hi,

When you create a new managed property in SharePoint Online, it can't be Refinable or Sortable. This is by design.

    Reference:

After creating a new managed property in SharePoint Online, you need to wait for about 24 hours, which is the time for an automatically full crawl in SharePoint Online. Then test if you can see the newly created metadata property in the refinement webpart Refiners section.

    Best regards,

  • it is possible to speed up the process: go to List settings > Advanced settings > Force search crawl > Ok. After that list with it's data will be crawled within 15 minutes and appropriate managed metadata properties should be filled after that.
