You can run this Script hourly via Taskplaner on your WSUS:

Which Build have your WSUS? Pls look at this Image:

You should have Build .274, if not, install the last Patch:

    WSUS 3.0 (SP2):    Build 3.2.7600.226
    WSUS 3.0 (SP2) + KB2720211:    Build 3.2.7600.251
    WSUS 3.0 (SP2) + KB2734608:    Build 3.2.7600.256
    WSUS 3.0 (SP2) + KB2828185:    Build 3.2.7600.262
    WSUS 3.0 (SP2) + KB2938066:    Build 3.2.7600.274

  • Hi Bharani Kumar,

As "Winfried" has mentioned, the latest version for WSUS 3.0 SP2 is .274.

Actually, it's recommended to use WSUS 2012 or 2012R2 or WSUS 2016 to deploy updates for win10 or win2016. And the version will shows correctly on WSUS 2016:

  • For the sake of completeness, there was one more Update published:

    WSUS 3.0 (SP2) + KB4039929:    3.2.7600.283

It fixes a server time out on newer Windows Versions.

The error message is the following:

WS error: The operation did not complete within the time allotted. 0x8024401c

  • I have been trying to figure out why Windows 2016 wouldn't update in WSUS 3.0 SP2. I spent countless hours until I found your reply.

This is the answer. Who cares what operating system it says, this fixes it so you can at least get updates to your Windows 2016 when getting incorrect timeouts.

I cannot believe that Microsoft isn't pushing this update to WSUS 3.0 as an update.
