Restrict the processing of DNS queries RRS feed

  • Hi,

I am confused about your question, please give more details to help clarify your question.

As I understand, you want to restrict the recursive query, is it right? If I misunderstand, please let me know.

About how to disable recursive query, please refer the link bellow:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2008-R2-and-2008/cc771738(v=ws.11)?redirectedfrom=MSDN

If you want to access Internet, we advise not to disable recursive.

If a DNS server in your network is not intended to receive recursive queries, you could disable Recursion on the DNS Server. Because in certain situations, allowing NameServer to process recursive queries coming from any system may help attackers conduct denial of service or cache poisoning attacks.

You can refer to the link below:

Condifgure the DNS server to allow recursive DNS queries only from trusted networks.

Hope this can help you, if you have anything unclear, please let me know.

    Best regards,

    Ellen
