One app after another fails to install

  I have successfully installed Vista and office 2007 as well as a number of other apps.  But I am running into a weird problem and no one seems to have an answer for me...

   

  I cannot install the following apps:

   

  Firefox

  StumbleUpon

  Several Dell drivers for my XPS 1210

  Roboform

  SlingPlayer

  Vopt813

   

  And the list goes on...

   

  I have administrative rights.  I am installing with administrative rights.  I have tried with DEP and without.  I have tried every combination of security I can think of.

   

  Each time, the system returns the same type of error:

  All of the apps are supposed to be Vista versions...all are the latest apps from the Vendor...I've tried compatability mode...and without...

   

  Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions.  I am getting ready to abandon Vista.
