One app after another fails to install RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have successfully installed Vista and office 2007 as well as a number of other apps.  But I am running into a weird problem and no one seems to have an answer for me...

I cannot install the following apps:

    Firefox

    StumbleUpon

Several Dell drivers for my XPS 1210

    Roboform

    SlingPlayer

    Vopt813

    And the list goes on...

I have administrative rights.  I am installing with administrative rights.  I have tried with DEP and without.  I have tried every combination of security I can think of.

Each time, the system returns the same type of error:

Faulting application intelmcs.EXE, version 1.3.2.6557, time stamp 0x4550b439, faulting module intelmcs.EXE, version 1.3.2.6557, time stamp 0x4550b439, exception code 0xc0000096, fault offset 0x000050db, process id 0xdf8, application start time 0x01c772cd0fff4708.

    or

Faulting application StumbleUpon.exe, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x45a92444, faulting module StumbleUpon.exe, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x45a92444, exception code 0xc0000096, fault offset 0x000032d4, process id 0x42c, application start time 0x01c772d3c88c65e8.

    Associated 1001 event log:

    Response: None
    Cab Id: 0

    Problem signature:
    P1: StumbleUpon.exe
    P2: 0.0.0.0
    P3: StumbleUpon.exe

    P5: unknown
    P6: 1
    P7: 201

    P9:
    P10:

All of the apps are supposed to be Vista versions...all are the latest apps from the Vendor...I've tried compatability mode...and without...

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions.  I am getting ready to abandon Vista.

  • Having same issue with a Black Berry manager install. Same error everytime I try to run the program. I have been told and searches seem to bear this out. That there may be a corrupted Windows Dll or file. If you have heard any more or recieve help please pass it on.

    Thanks
