Added database to Protection Group not picked up RRS feed

  • Question

  • So I have created a production protection group and the group is backing up as expected.  However, I have been moving databases to this protected instance and they are not automatically being picked up.  According to what I've read, DPM 2010 is set to automatically pickup new databases as they are added.

I've modified the protection group manually to insure the new databases are added.  They are selected and I've walked through the 'modify protection group' to refresh the group.  I've right clicked on these databases and created recovery points within the protection group.

Still, when I go and look at the monitoriing tab and the scheduled recovery points, I do not see the databases.

Any ideas?  Do I need to delete the protection group and start over?

  • Hi,

Double check to make sure you are protecting SQL on that server at the instance level. It should look like this:

  • Hi LakeErieVike

You normally should see the new databases being added after the next scheduled recovery point when DPM does a new VSS request.

    Did that happen?
