Database replication Link state Unknown RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
    i installed one Cas (1606 upgraded to 1702) and two primary sites (1606).

    In the cas database replication i see the link state from parent to child in "unknown".
    The Replication link Analizer doesn't start neither via command line

    If i click the child database properties i have this error

    Description = "Error to retrive object (SiteCode) instance, return error : 4";
    ErrorCode = 1078462229;
    File = "e:\\cm1702_rtm\\sms\\siteserver\\sdk_provider\\smsprov\\sspsite.cpp";
    Line = 406;
    ObjectInfo = "SiteCode";
    Operation = "GetObject";
    ParameterInfo = "SMS_Site.SiteCode=\"PSL\"";
    ProviderName = "ExtnProv";
    StatusCode = 2147749889;

    Any help?

    Thanks

    Why? Are you going to manage more than 150k clients?

  • No but i nedd to installa two primary one to manage clients internally one to manage server by an external group.

  • And why do you think that 2 primaries will add any benefit compared to a standalone primary?

  • Sorry but don't worry about it :)

    can you help me with my problem?

  • - *I* don't worry about it at all, but you should. Reason: multiple primaries don't add any benefits in your scenario. Even worse: they add more complexity (replication) and potential for "ups" moments (admins being able to deploy software / etc. to devices that they are not responsible for). Go for a standalone Primary instead.

    - No, because that log snippet is useless. provide more lines from the log and examine rcmctrl.log.

  • The rcmctrl says

    Site is NOT active, so not calling the DrsActivation procedures on DRSSite queue.

    And

    Publisher PCL is not active, so not requesting site data this time.
