Creating a Site at the Root of a Managed Path. RRS feed

  • Question

  • During our setup of sharepoint we had defined some managed paths.   Now we've discovered we need a landing page at the root of one of those paths but Sharepoint is not allowing me to make it.   Is there any way to do this?

  • If its a wildcard managed path then there is no way to create anything in the root.  Only explicit managed paths can have a site collection in the root of the managed path.  But remember explicit managed paths can only have one site collection.  so if you put something in the root that can be the only site collection in that managed path.
